It’s Restoration Time

By PBS Ministries

Joel 2:25: “And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.”

God has promised restoration to His children. As faithful and obedient believers, we must have the assurance that our harvest will be plentiful. When we remain committed to the task of serving God, when we have stood the test of time and when we have been through the storm, brothers and sister, be prepared, because everything that was lost, everything that was stolen from us, and everything we gave up to follow Christ, we are going to get it back, in Jesus name.

Let us read 1 Samuel 10:1-8

Then Samuel took a flask of olive oil and poured it on Saul’s head and kissed him, saying, “Has not the Lord anointed you ruler over his inheritance? When you leave me today, you will meet two men near Rachel’s tomb, at Zelzah on the border of Benjamin. They will say to you, ‘The donkeys you set out to look for have been found. And now your father has stopped thinking about them and is worried about you. He is asking, “What shall I do about my son?”“Then you will go on from there until you reach the great tree of Tabor. Three men going up to worship God at Bethel will meet you there. One will be carrying three young goats, another three loaves of bread, and another a skin of wine. They will greet you and offer you two loaves of bread, which you will accept from them.

“After that you will go to Gibeah of God, where there is a Philistine outpost. As you approach the town, you will meet a procession of prophets coming down from the high place with lyres, timbrels, pipes and harps being played before them, and they will be prophesying. The Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person. Once these signs are fulfilled, do whatever your hand finds to do, for God is with you. “Go down ahead of me to Gilgal. I will surely come down to you to sacrifice burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, but you must wait seven days until I come to you and tell you what you are to do.”

After Samuel  had anointed Saul with oil through the power of the Holy Spirit, the donkeys that Saul was looking for  were found, favor was upon his life, there were fulfillment and rejoicing and Saul was promoted. When we go through the flood waters and we remain faithful to God, everything that was stolen from us along the journey, will be restored to us. Our health will be restored, our wealth will be restored, our finances will be restored, our marriage will be restored, and our joy and peace will be restored thanks be to God.

We would have gone through our trials and temptations for many years, we might have thought of giving up, caving in or quitting,  we might have felt busted and disgusted, but by the grace of God, He has brought us out of the miry clay, and His favor is upon us every step of the way. Our bank account will oftentimes  show up with excess money,  we will receive cheques through the post, and the rich and the poor will give to us continually. Glory to God, He said those that wait upon Him shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Teach us Lord to wait upon you. The Bible says the Lord will be our restorer of life and a nourisher of our old age, He will forever lead us in the paths of righteousness and will restore our soul.

God restored the fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for his friends. He gave Job twice as much as he had after Job went through his trying times and remained faithful.  The children of God will flourish and remain productive, for the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just. Thank God for His abundant love.

We read in Psalm 71: 20-21, “You who have made me see many troubles and calamities will revive me again; from the depths of the earth you will bring me up again. You will increase my greatness and comfort me again.”

God is ready to plant our feet on higher ground, God is ready to showcase us to the world, and God is ready to do us good. Let us be like apostle Paul and declare that we have fought the good fight, we have finished the race and we have kept the faith. May the Lord bless you and keep you, may the Lord make His face to shine upon you and to be gracious unto you, may the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you His peace, in Jesus name, Amen.
