DELIVERANCE AND HEALING
By PBS Ministries
God’s marvelous, infinite, matchless grace is freely bestowed on all who will believe in the resurrection of His Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Grace is God’s unmerited favor. For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people. I challenge us to be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
According to Titus 3:3-7: “At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. 4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.”
It is not our good deeds that can save us from our sins, it is not the number of times we go to church that can save us from our sins, it is not by donating to a charitable organization that can save us. It is only the Blood of Jesus that can save us from our sins. We all were dead in our trespasses, we were living for worldly pleasures, we did things our way. But because of the love and mercy of God, we are no longer who we used to be in the world. The things we used to do, we do them no more, the places we used to go, we go there no more.
Thank God we are changed, we have been set free, we are delivered by the saving grace of Jesus Christ. We have been cleansed of our sins and we are now a new creation in Jesus. Since we are now free in Christ, there must be no more sexual immorality among us, there must be no more impurity and debauchery among us, and there must be no more idolatry, witchcraft and hatred among us. We are now living life in the Spirit so we can inherit the Kingdom of God.
Our chains are broken, our past is the past, we have found new joy, peace and favor in Christ Jesus, all because of the grace of our Lord. Despite our challenges, circumstances or catastrophes, God’s grace is sufficient for us, His power is made perfect in our weakness.
It is the grace of God that enables us to perform our gifted task. The Bible tells us that it was with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus and great grace was upon them all. Stephen was full of God’s grace and power and he did great wonders and signs among the people. Paul also tells us of the grace God gave him to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, with the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God.
It is because of the grace of God that I am what I am. It is the grace of God upon me that empowers me to minister the Gospel to people around the world to encourage, edify and enlighten them about our risen Savior and soon coming King. I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
We were once lost and dead in our trespasses, but the Blood of Jesus saved us, now we are a new creation in Christ Jesus. It is by the grace of God that we can say the things we use to do, we do them no more, the places we use to go, we go there no more.
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for His own possession who are zealous for good works.
We are now to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
