Save by grace

By Petal Barclay-Smith

We are blessed exceedingly with God’s grace.  To each one of us, grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. It is by His grace that we are saved and not by our good works, not by our wealth or not by our education.

Apostle Paul tells us in Titus 2:11-14

“ For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.grace 1

As children of God, we have the Holy Spirit indwelling in us and we know the truth of the knowledge of Jesus Christ.  The Holy Spirit teaches us all things, what is right from wrong, what is counterfeit and what is genuine.

If we are truly saved, no form of evil should be present in us. We should not be living a life of deception, a life of hatred or a life of wickedness. As Christians, the anointing within us teaches us to say no to ungodliness and worldly passions. We no longer should live in fornication, adultery, lust, idolatry, witchcraft and drunkenness. When we do, the Holy Spirit will convict us of our sins and bring us back on a path to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives.

As we live in this sinful generation, we are commanded to not to love the world or the things in the world. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life is not of the Father, but is of the world. This world passes away, but whoever does the will of God will live forever.

God wants us all to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. He wants to change and transform our life. We are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Apostle Paul, who wrote most of the New Testament, was a persecutor of the worst kind and a murder. But because of God’s mercy and grace, Jesus saved him and turned His life around to preach the Gospel.

At one time, we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But, it takes only the grace and love of God to save us. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior.

Below is a video of a testimony of twin brothers Tyrone and Jerome Saxon who were involved in gang, violence and drugs, but gave their live to Jesus after one of them nearly died. They now minister Christ focused rap music under the name 2Face.

If you have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, I encourage you to do so today. Jesus said today is the day of Salvation, not tomorrow, but today. Make that change today. You may never get another opportunity like the twin brothers to make Jesus Christ as Lord of your life. He is calling you. Jesus said I stand at the door and knock, if any man hears my voice and open, I will come in and eat with him and He with me.  If you hear that voice today and want to accept Jesus in your life, so you can be forgiven of your sins and live a new life in Christ, please pray this prayer.

Father, be merciful to me a sinner and save my soul from all sin.

I believe in my heart that Jesus is Lord and that You raised Him from the dead.

I ask your forgiveness of my sins.

I receive Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and

I will live for Him forever from this day onwards in Jesus name, Amen.

Truly amazing my friend. Just like the sweet words say, I once was lost, but now I am found. It was nothing but grace. God’s amazing grace that saved me. Thank you for sharing this beautiful truth. May the Lord’s peace and blessings be with you now and always.
