DELIVERANCE AND HEALING
By Petal Barclay-Smith
The return of Jesus Christ our Savior may seem long in coming, but rest assure, that day is fast approaching. Jesus will come in His Father’s glory with His angels and will reward each person according to what they have done. Are you ready for that day?
For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of Jesus Christ. We may not know the day and time of His return. But what we do know is as long as we are ready, as long as we believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and as long as we abide in Him and He abides in us, we have nothing to fear if Jesus appears today, for we are destined for Heaven.
Heaven and Hell are as real as night follows day. How we choose to live on this earth will determine our final destination when Jesus burst the cloud to judge the good and the bad.
Many people exclaimed that life after death does not exist and they use this statement as a way of escape from living a Godly life on earth. A life of obedience to our heavenly Father, a life of righteousness, where we turn our back on the evil ways of this wicked world and look to Jesus as the author and finisher of our faith.
But what good is it for us to gain the whole world, yet forfeit our soul? Or what can we givein exchange for our soul? Jesus says if we are ashamed of Him and His words in this adulterous and sinful generation, He will be ashamed of us when He comes in His Father’s glory with holy angels.
As believers, we are to be ready. We must declare that neither death nor life, neither angels or demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We read in the Book of Matthew, Chapter 25 that the kingdom of heaven will be like the ten virgins that took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. The Scripture tells us that five of the virgins were wise and five were foolish. The foolish ones took their lamps, but no oil with them, while the wise took their lamps along with jars of oil.
As the bridegroom was a long time in coming, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. But like a thief in the midnight hour, the cry rang out, ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’
When the virgins awoke and trimmed their lamps, the five foolish virgins realized their lamps were going out because of not enough oil. As they set out on their way to buy oil, the bridegroom arrived. Those that were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet and the door was shut. No sooner did the five foolish virgins returned and called Lord, Lord open the door for us, but he replied, “Truly, I tell you, I do not know you.”
I would implore us to not to be caught unprepared like the five foolish virgins when our King of kings arrive. We would not want to be shut out and to hear, “I do not know you.” Let us confess all our wrong doings before the Lord for He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
The Bible tells us if any man be in Christ He is a new creation, old things are past away and all things become new. We must remain watchful, standing firm in the faith
Believers, the Kingdom of God is at hand. The time is now for you to repent and believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Whoever is thirsty, let him come and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life. Only those who received Jesus Christ and believe on His name, to them He gave the power to become the sons of God.
Therefore, let us keep watch, because we do not know on what day the Lord will come. Let us live a holy and a Christlike life. Let us not be like the five foolish virgins, but let us be fully prepaid and ready to meet our soon coming King so we can spend eternal life with Him in Heaven.Amen
